Light
Sensitivity: discomfort or difficulty concentrating
in fluorescent light, sunlight, bright lights, glare and lights
at night.
Poor
Depth Perception: difficulty with spatial awareness
and judging distances accurately. Symptoms revealed in driving,
parking, stairs, escalators , ball games.
Strain
and Fatigue: physical symptoms are varied but
include drowsiness, fatigue and headaches from visual tasks. Eyes
can feel tired, sandy, scratchy, itchy or watery from reading.
Attention
Deficit Disorders: problems concentrating during
tasks such as reading, computer work, listening and observing.
Contrast
and Colour Sensitivity: problems with high
contrast, such as black print on white paper, bright colours, busy
patterns such as stripes and polka dots.
Restricted
Span: inability to read words in groups or
see objects in the environment as a whole.
Inefficient
Reading: skipping words/lines; rereading for
information; slow reading rate and problems with tracking
